All IMGs, regardless of their level or location of employment should be provided with an orientation program to assist their transition to clinical practice in Australia.
The objectives of orientation are threefold:
The following documents are specific to Metro North Hospital and Health Service & Caboolture Hospital.
The Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors underpins the assessment criteria for all pre-vocational Medical Officers. Below is a copy of this document for your perusal and examples of the different assessment forms utilised by each department within the Caboolture Hospital.
All mandatories are to be completed via Talent Management System (TMS)
The Declaration of Mandatory Training is a requirement by Queensland Health to ensure that all mandatory training is completed within 3 months of your orientation. Please sign and date your declaration as you complete each mandatory. If you are completing your mandatories externally, prior to your IMG Orientation day, please print and bring this form along on your scheduled orientation day.

Please read through the Aseptic Non Touch Theory (ANTT) Workbook before completing the theory assessment. If completed prior to your IMG orientation day, please print and bring along to your scheduled orientation. Please note: Practical assessment of this mandatory is also required. This can be organised by contacting the Medical Education Unit.

Please note: You will also need to undertake General Fire Safety Training on your relevant ward after commencing work.
