Caboolture, Kilcoy, Woodford and University of Sunshine Coast Collaborative Grant Round: Valued up to $40,000. Tentative opening 11th December 2023, closing 8th March 2024.

Collaborative Research Grants 2022 - Round 4 - Closed

Congratulations to the 2022 CRG Projects!

The Collaborative Research Grants will enable new collaborative research between clinicians, academics and scientists with the potential to lead to ongoing research of direct benefit to Metro North Health patients and the community. It is anticipated that research funded through this program will form the basis for ongoing research collaborations and potential applications for nationally competitive funding.


SWIFT Grants 2023

Round 1 – closed!

Metro North Research is committed to creating a supportive environment for research impact through the creation of, and rapid translation of knowledge. The Metro North Health SWIFT (Supporting Wonderful Ideas to Foster Translation) Grants Program is tailored to create opportunities to:

  1. generate new knowledge through research; or
  2. rapidly implement and translate research discoveries into benefits for Metro North Health patients and the community.


Health Practitioner Research Scheme (HPRS) -

2023 Funding Round - CLOSED

Applications for the 2023 funding round will open to new, mid-career and experienced researcher projects on 27 June 2022, with funding available from July 2023.


Clinician Reserach Fellowships 2023 - Closed

Congratulations of the 2023 Fellows!

The Program awards up to five Fellowship awards annually, specifically designed to allow Metro North’s emerging and highly skilled clinician researchers to develop and advance a body of research aligned to the Research Strategy to create a strong foundation of evidence-based healthcare.

The Fellowship funding provides four years of clinical backfill to allow recipients to enhance their research capacity. It’s an opportunity for Metro North’s brightest and most promising clinicians to delve deeper into their work and research.

From 1 September 2019, all Principal Investigators (PI’s) of clinical trials being conducted at Metro North must provide evidence of accredited GCP certification undertaken within the previous 3 years.
