Be Prepared

Advance Preparation

At some sites, the Library may be turned over to another service for use of the site. If that is the case, it is important to devise a strategy of how to set up the area in the event of this requirement (e.g. what needs to be kept safe by the Library staff, how to shift shelving, what happens with library staff, and/or, any other requirements for handover).

Loss of Electricity and ICT

In Queensland, power is likely to fail in the event of any weather related event leading to loss of computer systems. It is therefore important to consider what resources may be needed to keep health service library operational e.g. printed reference collection of major texts, where possible use of mobile devices to access cloud-based or non-local online services, etc.
